Helderberg Fire
Matthew and our Farm
Crew successfully fought the fire and prevented it from destroying the manor house, Tasting room and our cottages.
Unfortunately, most of the mountains plant life was burnt and considerable damage occurred to our tasting room garden and olive grove,
as well as our mountain fields of cultivated proteas. Slight damage occurred to our top Sauvignon Blanc vineyards which should recover this coming season.
We would like to thank all those that helped and offered their assistance during the three days of firefighting. |

| Winemakers 2011 Vintage Summary |

"The dry winter and summer, together with the windiest December in 36 years, provided us a platform for an exciting vintage. With great emphasis on our viticulture, good irrigation strategies, healthy vineyards and our understanding of our sites, we can expect an excellent year."
"Our wines are currently of exceptional quality and taste, really exciting with an intense concentration of flavour and colour due to smaller berries on bunches, from the drier conditions." |

| Matthew has been elected as the new chairperson for the South African Chardonnay Forum |

The Chardonnay Forum is an interest group focused on raising the image and awareness of South African Chardonnay amongst both consumer and producer. In January 2009 a steering committee was formed to spearhead events to achieve these goals. |

Top 100 South African Wines
Our 2006 Uva Mira Red Blend was recently rated as one of South Africa's TOP 100 wines.
Our Single Vineyard Chardonnay was also selected by Grape South Africa's Independent wine viewpoint as one of the TOP 100 South African Wines.
Stephen Tanzer, renowned independent USA wine critic, has highly rated our wines once again with scores of 93+ in his edition of the critically acclaimed "International Wine Cellar." |

We have recently released our 2010 Sauvignon Blanc and 2008 Single Vineyard Syrah and the wines have been highly reviewed.
We will be shortly releasing the first allocation of our 2010 Single vineyard Chardonnay, and due to the low yields in 2010 quantities are limited, so please contact Steve or Audrey to confirm your allocation (info@uvamira.co.za) to avoid disappointment. |
